Remember a few weeks ago when I told you in my newsletter that I had made a “To Don’t” list instead of a “To Do” list? By the way, if you’re not getting my newsletter, you can sign up HERE. Well, one of those “don’ts” was seeding my lawn for the fall. I just never seemed to have the time to do it. Things were way too busy.
Now, here it is…November. And my lawn doesn’t even have a blade of grass. Not a single blade! As a matter of fact, I don’t even think it’s legal to call it a lawn. I’m not sure what to call it, really.
But I don’t mind it a bit.
It says that I’m raising kids, not grass. And that’s what’s important to me right now. The lawn can always come later. One day, I’ll be silver-haired, puttering around the house wondering what to do with my time. I’ll probably send Blair’s crotchity old bee-hind to the store to pick up a bag of seed, and I’ll piddle around and scatter it outside.
Right now, I’m reading stories, putting on band-aids, picking up toys, and kissing foreheads. The lawn can wait.
Just wanted to send this along in case any of you mamas are feeling like you’re just not measuring up to all of the household duties.
Fortunately, God is holding the measuring stick and He’s looking at our hearts, not our lawns.
