Imagine Minecraft (but for Homeschooling Fams)

If you are anything like me, you have basically realized that video games aren’t going away anytime soon. My boys, especially, are big gamers (if you consider gaming only on weekends, as “big gamer” material).

And they LOVE Minecraft!

That’s why I was so excited when a friend passed along the video game, Birthdays the Beginning. It’s like Minecraft, but from an eco-system point of view. You can literally create different planets, ecosystems, terrains, animals, and more.

One thing I love about this is that it reveals, even for small children, the incredible mysteries and complexities of living organisms and ecosystems. Science still has yet to pinpoint that one mystery–the origin of life. And this is a great way to introduce that to your children. That our God started it ALL. It didn’t just “happen.” It happened as a result of our awesome Heavenly Father.

This is a secular game, of course. But I love using secular materials to introduce spiritual principles to my children.

So, while they’re playing a game, they are learning the entire time. That’s a win/win for me and my kids!

Birthdays the Beginning will be released May 9th; and you can CLICK HERE to find out more.
